Avengers: Endgame breaks records in India |
Indians do love their fiction drama but they love fantasy more. Such is the craze for the latter that the latest Marvel Studios` presentation - Avengers: Endgame`s tickets were gone in a snap. Indian theatres are running exclusive 24 hours shows for the film after the distributors in India were somehow able to secure permissions to have screenings post-mid-night. The first record in itself for the film in India was selling 1 million tickets in first 24 hours. The film then received a blockbuster opening at the box office with its day 1 collection crossing the 50 crore mark in India which equals to 7.1 million dollars. The multi-superhero flick, released in 2,845 screens in Hindi, English, Tamil and Telugu language, earned 7.6 million dollars on its opening day. With its Day 1 collection, Endgame has become the second-highest opener in Indian box office after Baahubali: The Conclusion, which earned 17.3 million dollars on its first day. The film is now busy smashing records at the box office. After entering the 100-crore club or the 14.3 million dollars mark, within two days of its release, Avengers: Endgame has crossed the Rs 150-crore mark or 21.5 million dollars in its opening weekend with an estimated collection of 22.1 million dollars.
