Documentary on Arvind Kejriwal |
A documentary on Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has finally got a release date. Titled `An Insignificant Man`, the film will hit theatres on November 17. Directed by Khushboo Ranka and Vina Shukla, An Insignificant Man, is a non-fiction political thriller that chronicles the rise of Arvind Kejriwal from a social activist to the chief minister of Delhi. The film was in news recently after it was stalled by the ex-censor board chief Pahlaj Nihalani, who had asked the filmmakers to get permissions from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other politicians as there are references to these people in the documentary. Ironically, the film was championed by the international filmmaking community and senior executives. Finally, the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal overruled the board`s ‘unconstitutional’ demand and cleared the film in its entirety. The 95-minutes-long film has been cut and edited from 400 hours of real, behind-the-scenes footage shot through a year. It give us a sneak peek into the heated arguments, inside jokes, campaign strategies and the true events and ideologies that make up the rhetoric, as we follow the birth of the newest political party in India -- the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
