Film Review: JHOOTHA KAHIN KA |
Friday saw the release of veteran actor Rishi Kapoor`s new film, Jhoota Kahin ka. Directed by Smeep Kang, the film is about two friends who`ll go to any lengths to keep up with each other`s fraudulent stories. Rishi Kapoor plays the character of Yograj Singh who is very proud of his ancestral property wants his foreign returned son, Varun to join him in the family profession. But Varun played by Omkar Kapoor, has other ideas. He goes back to Mauritius and in a jiffy gets married to Riya played by Nimisha Mehta. Varun`s web of lies get deeper when Yograj Singh decides to move to Mauritius to be close to his son and ends up renting a bungalow next door. `Jhootha Kahin Na` is positioned as a story of comedy of errors. But predictable twists, annoying background score, and repeated gags the film falls flat. Most of the dialogues are tedious and lack comic spark. Sunny Singh, manages to pull off a confused, innocent sort convincingly, Omkar Kapoor has an over expressive face. Jimmy Shergill is effective with limited screen time. But it is Rishi Kapoor who saves the day with an assured performance. Jhootha Kahin Ka has a few moments of comic relief towards the end but overall the film leaves much to be desired.
