Film WAR enters Rs 200cr group |
It has been six days since the release of Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff`s film War and it is flying high at the box office since its opening day. The Hrithik and Tiger-starrer film has earned Rs 51.6 crore on its Day 1 for just the Hindi version and became the biggest box-office opener of 2019. The film crossed Rs 100 crore in just three days and now has entered the Rs 200-crore club. War, which earned Rs 21.3 crore on Friday, made a big jump on Saturday by earning Rs 27.6 crore and Rs. 36 crore on Sunday, and continues to make merry at the box office. With a total of an estimated Rs 206 crore nett earned within the first week, the film coming in third on the list after `Baahubali- The Conclusion` and `Sultan`. The Siddharth Anand directorial released in around 4000 screens in India on October 2, and Friday saw the addition of 150-200 screens for the film in theatres. Despite the lower screen count, War surpassed the five days collection of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif-starrer Bharat, which made Rs 150 crore in its extended weekend. After Dhoom 3, Sultan, Tiger Zinda Hai and Thugs of Hindostan, War is the fifth film of Yash Raj Films to cross the Rs 100-crore club at the box office within 3 days of its release.
