Govinda on RANGEELA - CBFC row |
Bollywood actor Govinda addressed the cuts ordered by CBFC in his upcoming film `Rangeela Raja`. At a press meet, which also saw the presence of former CBFC chief and `Rangeela Raja` director-producer Pahlaj Nihalani, Govinda said that he smells conspiracy, and suggested that there are people in the industry who do not want his films to release. He said that nine years back, he started realising that his films, which could have been hits, would not release. And if they did, then they were not released properly. There are people who don`t want his films to release. His film `Sandwich` hasn`t released for so long. All his friends including Aamir Khan and Salman Khan told him that it was a sleeper hit when they watched it and asked why it never released. So many times he was told that there was a problem between the financiers and the producers. Sometimes the films had some legal troubles. Again, his film with Ashtavinayak Films didn`t release, but around the same time Rohit Shetty`s film was released. The 55-year-old actor added that recently his film `FryDay` was released and it got a 3.5 stars rating. Everybody appreciated the film, but it never got enough screens.
