JAGAME THANDHIRAM releases June 18 |
OTT platform Netflix on 27th April has announced the premiere date of the much-awaited Dhanush starrer “Jagame Thandhiram”. The announcement came with the release of a new poster featuring Dhanush. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, the film skipped theatrical release due to the ongoing pandemic.” Jagame Thandhiram” is tipped to be a gangster film set in London. The film was earlier slated for release in theatres in 2020. Netflix had earlier confirmed that they have secured the streaming rights of “Jagame Thandhiram”. The premiere date of June 18th was announced on the official Twitter handle of Netflix. In “Jagame Thandhiram” primarily a gangster film set in London, Dhanush essays the role of Suruli, who is a nomadic gangster. The film`s synopsis read, "A nomadic gangster finds himself caught between good and evil in a fight for a place to call home.” The shooting of “Jagame Thandhiram” was wrapped up much before India went into lockdown in 2020. Director Karthik Subbaraj completed the post-production work during the lockdown. The team waited for a good nine months to release the film in theatres. However, the surge in cases in India forced the producers to go digital and they sold the film to Netflix. “Jagame Thandhiram” features Dhanush, Aishwarya Lekshmi, James Cosmo, Joju George, Kalaiyarasan, Sanchana Natarajan, Deepak Paramesh and Vadivukkarasi.
