Kabir Singh movie review |
Udta Punjab fame Shahid Kapoor`s new movie “Kabir Singh” hit the silver screens on 21st June. The movie directed by Sandeep Vanga is the official remake of hit Telugu film “Arjun Reddy”. Kabir Singh is Shahid Kapoor`s biggest solo film release, hitting as many as 2,400-2,700 screens across India. The film has not only seen a "good opening" across metro cities of India but also across B-tier cities like Jaipur, Indore and Surat. Kabir Singh has received good reviews from the press, and "solid advance booking all over India". Kabir Singh is not the typical romantic saga. It is unconventional, but powerful. Shahid`s act is outstanding, Kiara is looking lovely. Director Sandeep`s storytelling is praised by many. The film`s protagonist, already dealing with serious anger management issues, goes completely over the edge and turns into an alcoholic and a drug addict when the girl played by Kiara Advani marries another man under pressure from her orthodox family. While Kabir Singh is a welcome change from stereotypical love stories, this kind of love affair needs some getting used to. If you can generally accept the fact that human beings can be flawed (sometimes deeply flawed), you will be able to stomach this rebellious story of love with extreme madness, often lacking rationale and reason.
