`Milan Talkies` running strong at the Box-Office |
A versatile Actor, a classy screenplay and a story which is world apart...the result is simple brilliance. Lunch box fame director Ritesh Batra`s much anticipated film Photograph released this week. When you have a versatile actor like Nawazuddin Siddiqui and director like Ritesh Batra`s the amalgamation of both will leave you wanting for more. Same is the case with their latest flick Photograph. Photograph is a unusual love story between two strangers who coincidentally meet and see each other regularly. Nawazuddin Siddiqui plays a streetside photographer and the film tells the story of a girl, played by Sanya Malhotra, who allows her plainness to define her. Both the actors are at their acting best, Sanya Malhotra is superb in the role, boxed in by her own hesitation, softly and inwardly holding her own alongside the striking Geetanjali Kulkarni, who plays an observant maid. The standout performance comes from Farrukh Jaffar as the outspoken grandmother. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is good as the taciturn Rafi. Photograph is a film smitten with the city, capturing the round central counters of the General Post Office with a lovely aerial shot, reminiscent of the way we`d seen the Library Of Congress in All The President`s Men.
