PADMAVATI release postponed |
The shooting of `Padmavati` in Jaipur (Rajasthan) was disrupted when a religious group vandalised the sets and even beat up director Sanjay Leela Bhansali on the pretext of portraying factually incorrect history. The period movie starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, is being directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Importantly, `Padmavati` has been facing troubles since the beginning, but the director seems determined to shoot it his way at any cost. Later, Deepika Padukone became busy with her Hollywood project and that also delayed the shooting. The makers then announced that `Padmavati` will hit the screens on November 17, 2017. The team believed they could finish the project by the middle of October with at least one month in hand to promote their film. But this seems to be impossible. So, Bhansali has postponed the release date to next year, and he is looking for a safe Friday. He is eyeing February 9, 2018 as his release date. If this happens then `Padmavati` will have to battle it out with Anushka Sharma starrer `Pari`.
