Alankrita Srivastava`s Dolly Kitty aur woh Chamakte Sitare premiered on 18th September on Netflix. The story about two rebellious sisters Dolly and Kitty is set up in North India`s Greater Noida district. Dolly played by actress Konkona Sen Sharma is stuck in a rut in her marriage while her sister Kitty played by Bhumi Pednekar is just starting out. The film shows the two leads as cousins who refuse to live by the rules that the society has written for them in stone and will `do whatever it takes to break the invisible shackles`. Dolly, a mother of two young boys, doesn`t feel satisfied with her husband and pursues a relationship with a younger pizza delivery boy (Amol Parashar) instead. Meanwhile, Kitty works at a call centre, providing companionship and phone sex to lonely men. She later meets the seemingly perfect Pradeep (Vikrant Massey) and falls into a relationship with him. Produced by Balaji Telefilms, the film has been written by Srivastava too. The film also stars Kubbra Sait, Karan Kundra, Amol Parashar and Vikrant Massey. Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare had its world premiere at the Busan International Film Festival last year and got rave reviews from critics and audiences worldwide. Pednekar has also received the Best Female Actor Award at the Busan film festival for the film.
