Malang though is portrayed as an action thriller, and the Aditya Roy Kapur and Disha Patani starrer begins with fight scenes as well. Aditya plays Advait who meets Sara played by Disha Patani and the two fall in love. While Sara is a free-spirited young woman who wants to live her life to the fullest, Advait is happier with capturing moments in his camera. The first half of the film is slow-paced while the second half is all about vengeance. The scenes shot in Goa are beautiful and will make one want to go adventure sporting. Aditya Roy Kapur as Advait is charming and fits the bill. He portrays pain, love and anger with sheer brilliance. Disha Patani looks alluring but adds nothing more. She maintains a straight face throughout. Anil Kapoor aces his role and makes us smile whenever he is on screen. The actor`s flawless expressions, unmatched body language and on-point dialogue delivery stand out. Kunal Kemmu as the ostensibly righteous cop is decent enough. Elli AvrRam does a fine job as Jessie and her dreadlocks make her look chic. In all, the film fails to hook the viewer despite being a thriller. Only towards the end the story gets intriguing. Only fans of the lead actors and Anil Kapoor may enjoy watching as there is not much substance in this thriller.
