Review of film PM Narendra Modi |
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been re-elected to power at the centre of Indian politics, but in the theatres, Modi`s hagiography ``PM Narendra Modi`` could not bring out the same charisma the man himself possesses. Vivek Oberoi fades in front of Modi the leader. Because when you play a man as in the public eye as Narendra Modi, you need to be sure of your art. PM Narendra Modi the film, takes its viewer through the best bits of Modi`s life. It highlights the struggles of this man, who fought his way from selling tea in train compartments and sleeping in caves to 7, Lok Kalyan Marg. Prashant Narayanan tries hard to play the sinister businessman, Darshan Kumar is the `corrupt journalist`. Boman Irani shines in his short role as Ratan Tata. Zarina Wahab gives her touch to Heeraben. None of the characters stay with you. Director Omung Kumar who did a commendable job with Mary Kom, brings the worst of his craft to PM Narendra Modi. Modi`s is a story that the entire country is aware of. Taking `creative liberties` in such a scenario is not exactly a smart thing to do.
