Review of web series - NOVEMBER STORY |
Tamil web series NOVEMBER STORY began streaming on Disney Plus Hotsar on 20th May. Directed by Indhra Subramanian, the series focuses on the protagonist Anuradha, played by Tamannaah Bhatia, going to extreme lengths to save her father, who is the prime suspect in a murder. The series kickstarts with how Anuradha`s life is ridden with problems. She is an ethical hacker but there`s a problem at work, with someone hacking into the systems. Her father, a famous crime novelist, is losing his memory every day. Every step that Anuradha takes is met with issues, and it is only much later that she understands that there is a connection between them. For a thriller the series is a bit slow in that characters take a long time to get established, and there`s many flashbacks. Also, it slowly digresses into three narrative subplots. Writing could have been tighter. But good performances make up for that. Tamannaah puts up an effective portrayal. GM Kumar fits the bill aptly. Pasupathy is the scene-stealer and he delivers in some of the crucial sequences. Far too much time is spent on dialogues and introspecting the case versus actual action expected of a thriller. The series is also available for viewers in Telugu and Hindi.
