Trailer of Annabelle Sethupathi |
The trailer for Vijay Sethupathi and Taapsee Pannu-starrer “Annabelle Sethupathi” is out. The film is a typical horror comedy. It`s got it all - a haunted house, possible reincarnation, and antics from a bunch of ghosts. King Rathore, essayed by Vijay, commissions a palace for his fiancé Annabelle, played by Taapsee. It is built by skilled architects from eight countries, each making a different section, creating a masterpiece. Impressed by the palace, a rich man, played by Jagapathi Babu, wants to purchase it. But the king says the palace is a `mark of his love` for Annabelle and not for sale. Decades later, in 2021, a young woman resembling Annabelle decides to move into the palace, which is rumoured to be haunted. That turns out to be true but the ghosts seem to be well-meaning, trapped in the abandoned house. Taapsee`s modern character befriends the ghosts and the rest of the film is a comedy of errors. One of the ghosts (Yogi Babu) informs the others that the new tenant is the key to their freedom. The trailer ends with Yogi Babu`s character saying, “Who makes new stories these days? Old stories are recycled and served, what can I do?” Annabelle Sethupathi is set to release in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada languages. Directed by Deepak Sundarajan, the film will start streaming on 17 September on Disney+ Hotstar. The film`s Hindi version has been titled Annabelle Rathore.
