Boston University opened the doors to the Rajen Kilachand Center for life science and engineering, which was built with the help of a $115 million gift from the Dubai-based industrialist. Kilachand is the chairman and president of the Dodsal Group, which he took over after his father Arvind Kilachand died. The Patan, Gujarat-born philanthropist is an alumnus of Boston University, and had made previous gifts of $25 million in 2011 to establish the Kilachand Honors College and $10 million in 2012 for renovations to Kilachand Hall. The Kilachand Center is a state-of-the-art research facility which aims to bring together life scientists, engineers, and physicians from two Boston University campuses to “speed life-changing developments in the fields of human health, environment, and energy,” according to an announcement from the university.
