15 cos debarred from H-1B visas |
The renewal of non-immigrant visas such as H-1B and L1 (the most popular visas among Indian IT professionals) has become more difficult, courtesy Donald Trump administration`s recent directive. Repealing its more than 13-year-old policy, the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) said that the burden of proof in establishing eligibility is, at all times, on the petitioner. The new policy is said to be in line with the Trump administration`s goal to protect American workers from discrimination and replacement by foreign labour. However, in a relief for Indian techies, US authorities in Jan 2018 announced that US government is not considering any proposal that would force H-1B visa holders to leave the country. As the H-1B visa debate continues to rule headlines, here`s a look at 15 companies that have been blacklisted from applying for H-1B visas by the US.
