60 % drop in Delhi`s air pollution |
Delhi heaved a sigh of relief on October 22, 2015 from the ever growing pollution in the city, terming it as one of the worst in the world. The first Car Free Day in the national capital of India led to a 60 percent drop in the air pollution on the car-free stretch onthe auspicious day of Vijaya Dashmi/ Dussehra. The Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) said that the 60 percent drop is in comparison to the levels observed on a normal day. Hope Delhi will have more such car-free days in the metropolitan.
