In the 3600 Crore Agusta Westland VVIP chopper deal case the Key accused British national Christian Michel`s Judicial custody was extended till 28th of this month. Michel was extradited by UAE authorities to India earlier this month and sent to 5 days CBI custody by the special court. which was further extended. Michel was extradited after six years after his alleged involvement in the case surfaces back in 2012. In a FAX sent by Christian to the senior official of Agusta Westland back in 2010, he claimed that he had to “virtually engage the entire UPA Cabinet` to neutralise the lobbying on behalf of the US. Michel was among the alleged middlemen who brokered the chopper deal and who, investigators claim, paid bribes to officials and politicians to swing the contract in favour of AgustaWestland, the British arm of Italian firm Finmeccanica.
