Air India Express now to fly international from Surat |
Air India Express landed its maiden flight in the city of Surat in the state of Gujarat carrying 75 passengers from Sharjah making the city`s first mark on the international aviation map. The flight IX 172 touched down at 11:30 pm on Saturday with international passengers on board the Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Surat has now become the 20th destination in India for the international budget arm of Air India. Air India Express will fly 4 times in a week on this route. Surat to Sharjah is the 47th non-stop destination of Air India Express between cities of India and the Gulf countries. Besides, it also operates on the South East Asian countries. Air India express carries 14 % of the total traffic on India-Gulf route.
