BJP in celebration mode |
With almost all exit poll results predicting a win for the Bharatiya Janata party led National Democratic Alliance, BJP workers in the national capital of Delhi are already in a celebratory mode. With exit polls starting as soon as the last phase of voting for the Lok Sabha election got over on Sunday, celebrations had already started in the BJP camp. The exit polls predicted a BJP win in at least six of the seven seats in Delhi, with Congress bagging one and AAP failing to open its account. BJP had swept Delhi in the 2014 Lok Sabha election by winning all the seven seats, but if one believes the exit polls, it might have to concede one to Congress this time around. BJP, however, is confident of not only winning all the seven seats in the capital but also with a huge margin. Union minister Vijay Goel said, “All the seven seats in Delhi will go to BJP and there are two reasons for that. First, the development work done by Modiji. “The second reason is the triangular contest in Delhi, which has benefited BJP which will win very comfortably and the margin of win will be in lakhs.” BJP repeated five of its seven sitting MPs. The new faces included cricketer-turned politician Gautam Gambhir and singer Hans Raj Hans.
