BJP urges EC to declare West Bengal as Super Sensitive |
In light of the recent tiff between BJP and the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, BJP has demanded the Election Commission to declare West Bengal as `Super sensitive` for the upcoming assembly elections. Taking security concerns to the doorsteps of the election commission, A BJP delegation led by Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad met the Election Commission on wednesday with the request to declare the entire West Bengal state as `super sensitive` during the election process. West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress President Mamata Banerjee has slammed the BJP`s demand, terming it as an insult to the people of the state. After the EC meeting, Ravi Shankar Prasad said the party has requested the Commission to declare the state as super sensitive. He said that the party has asked for deployment of Central observers in West Bengal during Lok Sabha polls.
