Big promises in BJP`s Manifesto |
The largest party of the ruling NDA government, Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday released its election manifesto, `Sankalp Patra`, for the Lok Sabha election, at the party headquarters in New Delhi. The party has focused on its commitment towards national security, doubling farmers income and welfare of women. The party has reaffirmed its commitment towards zero tolerance against terrorism and extremism and empower security forces in combating terrorism in its manifesto. Sharing the highlights of the Sankalp Patra, senior party leader and Union Minister Rajnath Singh said, the party will provide short-term new agriculture loans up to 1440 dollars at a zero interest rate for up to five years on the condition of prompt repayment of the principal amount. It talked of effective steps to prevent illegal immigration in the northeastern states. The BJP has promised to enact the Citizenship Amendment Bill for the protection of individuals of religious minority communities from neighbouring countries escaping persecution. The BJP manifesto states that the party will make all efforts to clarify the issues to the sections of population from the Northeastern states who have expressed apprehensions regarding the legislation.
