Former UK Foreign Minister Boris Johnson is all set to succeed Theresa May as the new Prime Minister of Britain after beating Foreign Secretary and rival Jeremy Hunt with an over 45,000 votes. In his letter to the Indian diaspora, Johnson wrote that, during his meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he had stressed upon how India and UK were modern democracies and should work together to promote trade and prosperity. Johnson told Modi that the two nations should work closely to tackle the challenges that their countries face. Boris Johnson, though has some relations in India as well as his estranged wife Marina Wheeler with whom he has four children together, is part Indian. Her mother, Dip Singh was Sikh and formerly married to Khushwant Singh`s younger brother Daljit Singh before she married Wheeler and had Marina and another daughter. Johnson has been in many trips to India before and last year visited the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve in India with his family.
