British Airways offloaded Indian family |
Aviation minister Suresh Prabhu has directed the DGCA to obtain a report from British Airways for allegedly offloading an IES officer`s family whose three-year-old child was crying. Reports said the alleged incident happened on July 23 when a 1984 batch officer of the Indian Engineering Services was on board with his family.AP Pathak, the officer, said his son started crying and a flight attendant came and threatened to offload them if their kid doesn`t keep quiet and after a while, he called security and they were offloaded. Pathak, who is a joint secretary level officer in the ministry of road transport and highways, said he complained to Prabhu and external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj, alleging “racial discrimination” by the airline. The airline on its part said that it takes such incidents “extremely seriously” and has initiated a “full investigation” into the matter.
