Attempting to bring back issues of “unemployment, farmers` distress and women`s security on main agenda, Congress on Tuesday unveiled its manifesto or the document of governance, if voted to power in 2019 elections, and said it would seize narrative of polarization from the BJP and work relentlessly for basic issues. The manifesto, released by the party president Rahul Gandhi, concentrated on its program of NYAY (Nyuntam Aay Yojana) scheme which promises 1050 dollars per year to poorest families. The party promised to give 1050 dollars annually to 50 million poor families constituting 20 percent of total population of India. On the issues of employment, he said, the party has promised to fill up the 22 lakh vacant posts by March 2020 and provide employment to 10 lakh youth in Gram Panchayats n their bank accounts with the monthly instalment of 6000 rupees. On education, the Congress President said, the party has promised to spend six percent of total GDP on education and creation of a separate budget to address the concerns of the country`s farmers. He also said, the manifesto has promised to make loan default by farmers, a civil offence instead of a criminal offence.
