Congress party`s NYAY scheme |
Ever since Indian national Congress party president, Rahul Gandhi had announced the Nyay scheme for the poor, the debate has been on about how realistic the poll promise is. After the Congress Working Committee meeting, the party president Rahul Gandhi, on Monday had announced a very ambitious `Minimum income guarantee scheme` ensuring 1045 dollars a year for poorest families, if the Congress is elected to power. Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, in a press conference stated that Rahul Gandhi is bluffing and the NDA government at the centre is already providing more than that amount to the poor. BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha, who has been denied election ticket to contest from his Lok Sabha seat of Patna Sahib, said that this is a masterstroke by Rahul Gandhi at the right time and had shaken the modi government. Rahul Gandhi had announced that “It is not acceptable to the Congress that there is poverty in India in the 21st century. The final assault on poverty has begun,” he said. Describing the proposed plan as “Historic”, He said it as an “extremely powerful, dynamic, well-thought-through idea”. The scheme is named Nyuntam Aay Yojana - NYAY.
