Coworking space developers attracting foreign funding |
India`s Corporate world has always been vast and diverse which encompasses many different identities, languages and cultures. Many multinational companies have set shop here and become part of their everyday life. But now the concept of Coworking spaces is in trend. This concept has seen change and development at a rapid pace. Some coworking operators have even raised $83 million to expand their businesses. One of the operators, Awfis has raised $30 million in fresh funding led by marquee investor ChrysCapital. Existing investors, Sequoia India and The Three Sisters Institutional Office also participated in the round. The investment is part of the company`s Series D funding round. The firm has so far raised about $81 million in funding. Another operator GoWork, has also raised $53-million debt funding from US-based BlackRock and CLSA Capital Partner. The additional capital raised will support them in expanding their footprint in India with more than 400 centres and 200,000 seats over the next 36 months. This can further propel the industry growth across the length and breadth of all emerging markets in India.
