Delhi-Mumbai expressway in record time |
Indian Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said on 20th July that all efforts were being made to complete the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway project expeditiously. In a written reply in the upper house of the Indian Parliament, Gadkari said that 350 km had already been constructed, and works for construction of 825 kilometres was in progress. Bids for the remaining 163 km had been received and these balance works are likely to be awarded in the 2021-22 fiscal. The target date for completion of the complete corridor of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is January 2023. He noted that there were certain unavoidable slippages due to the ongoing COVID pandemic.
