Flood havoc in some Indian states |
Once again the deluge in the Western and Southern states of India has wreaked havoc as incessant rains have worsened the situation in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. In Kerala, rain-related death toll in the state rose to 22, while over 23000 people have been moved to 351 relief camps. Govt has issued red alert for nine districts as rains Rain is expected to continue. Situation is serious in Wayanad, Mallapuram, Kasargod, Kozhikode, Ernakulam and Thrissur. Flood has affected several parts of Maharashtra throwing normal life out of gear. Very heavy rains in the last few days have led to a flood-like situation. Around 2 lakh 3 thousand people have been rescued and saved. In Karnataka about 45,000 people have been evacuated from the flood hit areas. Around 17,000 people have taken shelter in relief camps. Teams of NDRF, Army, Navy and Air Force are involved in the relief operations. Belagavi, Hubli, mysuru, kodagu, bagalkot are worst affected by the floods. States of Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Chattisgarh are also affected by water logging due to floods. While, flood fury is witnessed in various parts of the country. combined efforts of the administration and forces is trying to provide maximum relief to the affected people.
