Foreign Portfolio investors return to India |
Foreign portfolio investors turned net buyers in September as they pumped in more than 252 million dollars into the Indian capital markets, after remaining sellers for the previous two months. Experts said, the latest inflows have been triggered by improving investor sentiment on the back of easing US-China trade war and supporting macroeconomic data. According to the latest depositories data, FPIs withdrew around 284 million dollars from equities but put in 542 million dollars in the debt segment during 3rd to 13th of September. It translated into a total inflow of around 258 million dollars into the capital markets. Prior to this, FPIs pulled out around 828.5 million dollars in August and around 418 million dollars in July from India`s domestic capital markets.
