Foreign investors pump in $ 1.45 bn in Indian capital market |
Indian capital market made progress in the month of June as Foreign investors infused over 1.45 billion dollars into the markets in the last month of the first quarter and remained net buyers for the fifth month in a row on expectations of continued economic reforms. Foreign portfolio investors, invested a net of 330 million dollars in equities and 1.1 billion dollars in the debt market, taking the total net investment to 1.5 billion dollars in June. So far in 2019, the FPIs have invested a net cumulative amount of 12.6 billion dollars since January. Except January, FPIs have been net buyers in 2019 till now and have invested a net 1.3 billion dollars in May, 2.3 billion dollars in April, 6.6 billion dollars in March and 1.6 billion dollars in February into the Indian capital markets.
