Global Investors Summit begins in chennai |
The two-day Global Investors Summit commences in Chennai; e-vehicle policy to give a boost to electric vehicles manufacturing in the state will be unveiled soon. The 2-day Global Investors Summit, being organised by government of Indian state of Tamil Nadu, started in the capital city of Chennai. About five thousand delegates from industries in India and abroad are taking part in the summit. Chief Minister Edappadi K Palani-samy in his inaugural address said that the state government would soon unveil e-vehicle policy to give a boost to electric vehicles manufacturing in the state. He said that the 200 acres aerospace industrial park at Sri-perum-budur near Chennai has the potential to get expanded by 700 acres more. Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman unveiled the state`s aerospace and defence industrial policy in the event. She said that the Union Government is undertaking systemic transformation in the country in a big way. In the inaugural event, the Adani Group Chief Executive Officer Karan Adani committed an investment of USD 1.7 billion in its Kattu-palli port expansion project.
