IAF pilot safely returns to India |
After the boil of tensions between India and Pakistan and the later capturing the Indian Pilot after his plane crashed in Pakistan, THE Air Force Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthman safely returned home. Indian Air Force Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthman arrived in New Delhi on Friday night after he was handed over to Indian authorities by Pakistan at Attari-Wagah border. Air Vice Marshal R G Kapoor said Abhinandan was handed over as per standard operating procedure and Indian Air Force is happy to have him back. In a tweet, Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed Wing Commander Abhinandan back to the country, saying the nation is proud of his exemplary courage. He said that the country`s armed forces are an inspiration for 1.3 billion Indians. Congress President Rahul Gandhi, in a tweet, said Abhinandan`s dignity, poise and bravery has made the countrymen proud. Several leaders have also welcomed and lauded Abhinandan for his poise and courage. His plane had crashed on the Pakistani side last week where he was captured and arrested by Pakistani army personnel.
