ISRO`s Youth Scientist Programme |
A one of its kind programme for the bright students of the country to be trained in the emerging areas of space technologies was launched by ISRO. The Indian Space Research Organization on Monday launched the YUVIKA program for school children. It is a special programme for schools, also called the Young Scientist Programme or the Yuva Vaigyanik Karyakram. The programme is aimed at primarily imparting knowledge of space technology and space science applications to the young minds so as to develop their interest in the emerging areas of space activities. The space agency has chalked out this programme with residential training programme of around two weeks during summer holidays. ISRO has proposed to select three students each from every state/UT to participate in this programme every year while covering CBSE, ICSE and state syllabus. Students in Class 9 will be eligible for the programme. The selection is based on the academic performance and extracurricular activities of the students and is expected to commence from this academic year.
