India 50,000+ Covid cases daily for 6 days in row |
India on Sunday recorded the highest in the world, a single-day spike of COVID 19 cases with over 57000 cases. The number of tests also crossed the two-crore mark, the Indian Council of Medical Research announced. A cumulative total of 2,02,02,858 samples have been tested up to August 2 with 3,81,027 samples being tested on Sunday, as per the ICMR. However, India`s Covid-19 tally crossed the 18-lakh mark on Monday. With 52,972 fresh cases reported in 24 hours, the total figure surged to 18,03,695 with the death toll at 38,135. The number of recoveries also increased to over 11.86 lakh. As India enters lockdown 3.0, the Ministry of Home Affairs has removed restrictions on the movement of individuals during the night and has allowed yoga institutions and gymnasiums to open from August 5. On August 3, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare released its guidelines to contain the spread of COVID-19 in gymnasiums and yoga institutes. One of the worst-hit states Mumbai is also now opening up. As part of the Maharashtra government`s “Mission Begin again,” the BMC on Monday in an order said that shops in Mumbai can now remain open on all days on both sides of the road. It also said that malls will also be open for the public from August 05 from 9 am to 7 pm.
