India May still make cricket World Cup final |
India`s march to the finals of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 had to wait another day as rain played spoilsport in the first semi-final between India and New Zealand played at Manchester. On a day when the Indian bowlers had a firm grip on New Zealand`s batsman, rain came to the rescue of the black caps and no further play was possible. The match will continue on Wednesday from the overnight score of New Zealand who were at 211 for 5 in 46.1 overs. After more than 4 hours of rain the on-field umpires felt that even the minimum required 20 over play was not possible under the Duckworth Lewis method. The match was thus moved to the reserved day to continue from where it was left off. Earlier New Zealand won the toss and opted to bat. Captain Kane Williamson hit another half century and build a solid partnership with Ross Taylor who was at 67 with Tom Latham at 3 when rain stopped the match.
