India Polls 2019: Anxieties grow as 6th phase done |
In what was the 6th and one of the fiercest fought phases of India`s general elections, voters turned out in huge numbers across the 7 states that went to poll on Sunday. Over 64 per cent polling was recorded across 59 constituencies spread over 7 states which went to the polls in this phase. People including women and senior citizens came out in large numbers to cast their votes. According to Election Commission, West Bengal recorded the highest poll percentage of 81.69 and Uttar Pradesh the lowest with 54.75 percent votes. Out of 543 Lok Sabha constituencies, polling has been completed for 483 seats. There were lowest number of EVMs replaced during the sixth phase of polling.
