India: Ready to engage with Pak in a terror free atmosphere |
For the fourth time, China, blocked a fresh bid to designate Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) Chief Masood Azhar as a global terrorist at the UN Security Council. A statement issued by the external affairs ministry in New Delhi expressed “disappointment” at the UN`s Islamic State and Al-Qaeda Sanctions Committee being unable to come to a decision on the move to sanction Azhar on account of a member placing the proposal on hold”. Following the move the External affairs Minister Sushma swaraj said that India is ready to engage with Islamabad in an atmosphere free from terror and if the Pakistani PM as some people are saying is a Statesman and generous he should hand over Jaish-e-Mohammad Chief Masood Azhar to India. She demanded that Islamabad should take the strictest action against terrorism and must stop sponsoring it. Making Country`s stand clear on the issue, the Union minister articulated concerns on terror and said that terror and talks cannot go together. She was talking at an event about “Government`s Foreign Policy`, and urged that Pakistan needs to control the ISI and its army who are bent on destroying the bilateral relations time and again.
