India calls for adequate resources for its peacekeepers |
Speaking at a General Debate on Special Committee on Peacekeeping Operations, India`s Permanent Representative to the UN Syed Akbaruddin has called for adequate resources for the Indian troops in UN peacekeeping missions. He aired his concerns and made it clear that under-resourced Blue Helmets cannot accomplish their mandated tasks. Syed Akbaruddin was speaking at a General Debate on Special Committee on Peacekeeping Operations. The three-week session in UN will focus on some of the pressing issues facing the more than 100,000 military, police and civilian personnel from 125 countries, currently serving in 14 operations.
