India prepares to celebrate Eid |
Eid rush was spotted in markets across India ahead of the festival as women get their hands dyed with henna and buy new clothes & jewellery. Sevaiyan sale has been dominating the markets as shoppers flock to purchase. People are in a mood to celebrate as COVID cases remain small in number. The crescent moon for the Islamic month of Shawwal was not sighted on Sunday 1st May evening, therefore clerics across the country announced that the festival of Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in India on 3 May. Ramzan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, which involves rigorous fasting for about 30 days. Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated by Muslims around the globe to mark the end of the Islamic holy month of Ramzan. Ramzan is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting to commemorate the first revelation of the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad, according to Islamic belief.
