India registers 18+ year olds for COVID vaccination |
India`s largest COVID-19 vaccination drive will now assume humungous proportion as the country on 28th April 2021 began registering all above 18 years of age for vaccination. People are asked to register on the friendly CoWIN platform or Aarogya Setu App, starting at 4 PM on 28th April. All Indian adults are eligible to receive the Covid-19 vaccine under phase 3 of vaccination starting May 1st. PIO TV checked and other reports confirmed that Indians began registering in very big numbers to receive the vaccination. So far, nearly 140 million people have been vaccinated in India. The second wave of Covid-19 has hit India hard with a record rise in COVID-19 cases beyond the worst phase of last year. India tops in the world with new infections daily touching 350,000. Importantly, for our Diaspora members very concerned about families and friends in India and for our viewers, here`s how to register for the vaccine on CoWIN portal and the Aarogya Setu app. Visit the CoWIN website and click on Register/Sign in yourself. It prompts you to add your mobile number and click on Get OTP. After receiving the OTP, type the digits on the site, and click on `Verify`. Enter all your details, including photo ID proof, name, gender, and year of birth on the `Register for Vaccination` page. Hit Register and you will get the option to schedule an appointment. Click on `Schedule` next to the name of the person registered. Search for a center by add your pin code and click on Search. Select a Center, date and time and click `Confirm`. It is an easy enrollment online and one can add up to 3 other beneficiaries from the same number. With steep surge in cases across India especially in the states of Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, and Kerala, the vaccination drive by the Modi government is the only way to keep everyone safe from the infection. The government urges the Indian diaspora to push their loved ones and close family and friends to enroll in the process and get themselves vaccinated. It is the only hope to fight and win against the COVID-19 catastrophe.
