India wins ODI series in Australia |
In a scintillating performance, India today won the ODI series against Australia by seven wickets at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Chasing victory target of 231 runs, India scored requiste runs only after losing 3 wickets. Former Captain MS Dhoni top scored with 87 in his old fashioned chase winning in the last over. With this, he has scored fifty plus scores in all the three matches of the ODI series. India won the toss and elected to bowl first. After the openers were dismissed inside the first powerplay, Usman Khwaja and Shaun Marsh did try to do some repair work, before Yuzvendra Chahal sent both of them to the pavilion in the same over. Middle order batsman Peter Handscomb was the sole player to cross the 50 run mark for Australia as they were bowled out for 230 runs in the 49th over. Yuzvendra Chahal bagged his second 5 wicket haul and finished his spell with figures of 10-0-42-6. This is the best bowling figures for Chahal in one day internationals. Chahal has equalled the record for best bowling figures for a visiting bowler equalling Ajit Agarkar identical figures. This was the third instance that an Indian bowler had taken a 5 wicket haul.
