Indian woman shuttler creates history |
Indian ace shuttler Pusarla Sindhu created history on Sunday as she won the World Badminton Championships finals and became the first Indian to win the world championship Gold medal. Sindhu took on 3rd seed and former champion Nozomi Okuhara in a repeat of the 2017 World Championships final in Basel. On Sunday, Sindhu never gave an opportunity to Okuhara. The final was over in just 38 minutes. Sindhu won it 21-7, 21-7 to become the first Indian to win a gold at the BWF World Championships. Indian President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated ace shuttler PV Sindhu for winning the World Badminton Championships.
