It is people`s victory: Modi |
Showering praises for his party workers and supporters and above all the voters of India, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said it is not his or the party`s victory but of India. He said India has won again and together with everyone, a strong and “inclusive nation will be built.” He dedicated the Lok Sabha polls verdict to the people and the country`s vibrant democracy. PM Modi received a rousing welcome at New Delhi based Bharatiya Janata Party headquarters, amidst showering of petals. He promised to devote “every moment” of his time and “every fibre” of his being for the people of India. He tweeted, “Together we grow. Together we prosper. Together we will build a strong and inclusive India. India wins yet again”. Party workers and supporters, had started gathering at the party headquarters since early leads of counting showed clear majority for the saffron party. Addressing the overwhelming crowd of supporters, Modi said, “It is not Modi`s victory, but a win of people`s hope and aspirations.” Trying to strike a conciliatory political tone, Modi reached out to his rivals, urging everyone to put the rancour of the bitter and often nasty campaign behind them. He said, “What is in past is past...We have to move ahead.
