As Nominations for the forthcoming Lok sabha elections started with issue of notifications in large number of constituencies, Political activities have started in full swing. Political pundits of each party are holding close door meetings before announcing candidates. The Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday announced its first list of candidates which surprisingly did not feature Party founder and senior most leader Lal Krishna Advani. BJP President Amit Shah will be contesting from L K Advani`s seat of Gandhinagar in Gujarat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be contesting the Lok Sabha elections from the seat of Varanasi. Congress has already released its sixth list of nine candidates. It has seven candidates for Maharashtra and two for Kerala. With this, the party has, so far, released names of 146 candidates. Reports say, Chhattisgarh BJP has decided to drop all its ten sitting MPs in the elections and field new candidates in all the 11 seats. Informatively, the party has lost power to Congress in the state during recently held state assembly polls.
