Millions take dip at Kumbh on Mauni Amavasya |
Thirty million people set to take holy dip at Sangam on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya which is considered as highly auspicious and can grant salvation from the worldly affairs. A vast multitude of people took holy dip at Sangam, a confluence of Ganga Jamuna and Saraswati on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya on Monday, and participated in religious activities in the ongoing Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj. According to hindu Mythology taking a dip at the holy Sangam on Mauni Amavasya is highly auspicious. More than three crore devotees are expected to take holy dip at the Sangam. Amid chanting of vedic hymns and mantras, the Shahi Snan begun in the morning at Sangam. According to the Kumbh Mela Administration, 15 million devotees have already reached the Kumbh for the Snan. The 49-day Kumbh Mela will conclude on the 4th of March.
