Moderate turnout in the 4th phase of Indian polls |
Moderate to Brisk polling was reported as polls for 4th phase were held, out of the ongoing seven phased elections for choosing the 17th Lok Sabha in India. Voting was held in this phase for 72 Parliamentary constituencies, spread over nine states, and Kulgam district of Anantnag Lok Sabha seat in the state Jammu and Kashmir. This phase has over 127.9 million voters and they are deciding the fate of 961 candidates. Over 140 thousand polling booths are in place for smooth conduct of polls. According to the election commission, Voting will be held for 17 Parliamentary seats in Maharashtra; 13 each in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh; eight in West Bengal; six each in Madhya Pradesh and Odisha; five in Bihar; and three in Jharkhand in this phase. Anantnag Parliamentary Constituency in Jammu & Kashmir is going to polls divided in Phase III, Phase IV & Phase V of General Elections 2019, and is the only such Constituency in the country. PDP President Mehbooba Mufti`s fate will be decided in this phase of elections.
