Modi Govt. to give 5.6 mn vaccines to states in 3 days |
India`s Union Health Ministry on 17th June said that the federal government will provide more than 5.6 million vaccine doses to States and Union Territories in the next three days. According to MoHFW, as many as 21.8 million Covid-19 vaccine doses are still available with the states and UTs to be administered. The Ministry said in a statement that more than 272.8 million vaccine doses have been provided to states and union territories free of cost by the federal government through direct state procurement category. The Union Health Ministry further informed that 265 million 519 thousand 251 vaccine doses have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive. India started the world`s largest vaccination drive on 16th January 2021 in a phased manner with healthcare workers getting inoculated first.
