Modi holds bilateral talks at BRICS Summit in Brazil |
Prime Minister held bilateral meetings with top leaders from Russia, Brazil and China on Wednesday on the sidelines of BRICS summit in Brasilia. During his talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Mr Modi expressed happiness at the pace of growth of bilateral relations. Russian President Vladimir Putin invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Victory Day celebrations in May next year as the two leaders reviewed the progress made in the bilateral ties and discussed ways to further expand the special strategic partnership. PM Modi tweeted, India and Russia are cooperating extensively in areas such as trade, security and culture. The people of our nations will benefit due to close bilateral ties." The two leaders noted with satisfaction that the 25 billion US Dollar target of bilateral trade by 2025 has already been achieved. During the meeting between Prime Minister Modi and Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, the two leaders spoke about diversifying cooperation for the benefit of their people. Both leaders agreed that on this occasion the two countries can comprehensively enhance our strategic partnership. The Prime Minister invited the Brazilian President as chief guest for the Republic Day celebrations in 2020 and he accepted the invitation with pleasure.
