NDA`s seat sharing formula in the Indian State of Bihar |
The ruling National Democratic Alliance led by BJP and allies Janta Dal United and Lok Janshakti Party have finalized the seat sharing arrangement in Bihar for next year`s Lok Sabha elections. As per the new formula, BJP and JD (U) will contest on 17 seats each while Lok Jan Shakti Party-got six seats. It was announced at a media briefing in New Delhi on Sunday by BJP Chief Amit Shah, JD (U) President and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and LJP Chief Ram Vilas Paswan. Mr. Shah also made it clear that Mr. Paswan will get a Rajya Sabha berth. Ram Vilas Paswan said he was happy with the respectable seat-sharing formula and assured that the three parties will work together for NDA`s victory. On another front the winning Telangana Rashtra Samithi in Telangana & the Biju Janata Dal in Odisha are in talks to form the third front against the Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led alliances in the 2019 LS Elections. Chief Minister of the Indian state of Telangana, Telangana Rashtra Samithi party`s chief K. Chandrashekhar Rao, held discussions with his Odisha counterpart and Biju Janata Dal chief Naveen Patnaik for stitching an alternative front, to the Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party led alliances during coming general elections. Rao, minced no words to articulate his views and was of the firm view that the regional parties should come together as the country needs a change.
